The Lamanga Resort

The La Manga Club is set in 1500 acres on the Costa Calida, where the flowers and orchards flourish in the year-long sunshine. The club is situated in a green valley filled with palm trees, sheltered by the Murcian hills and fringed by the deep- blue Mediterranean Sea.

Within this beautiful and tranquil environment the Club houses some outstanding leisure and sporting facilities; three world-class golf courses, one of the best-equipped tennis centres in Europe, plus beach clubs with marvellous water sports. All of these facilities are close at hand, golf and tennis within walking distance, with others within 5 minutes drive of your apartment.

For entertainment there are excellent restaurants, bars and shops in the Bellaluz commercial centre (shown), La Plaza and Spa complexes, plus a Hyatt Regency hotel casino and a host of other facilities, all of which make La Manga Club a leisure world beyond compare.

Golf academy

La Manga Club hosts many international tournaments, including the Spanish Open, PGA Spanish championships, Spanish Junior championships, Ladies Spanish Open and Senior Spanish Open for men.

The three world-class 18-hole championship courses cater to all levels. The Golf Academy provides excellent group and private tuition. Five-day courses are offered which consist of three hours tuition each morning, Monday to Friday and are ideally suited to beginners and improvers alike. Resident professionals are also available for private tuition on a one-off basis or as a series of lessons.

The first-class training and practice facilities include a floodlit driving range with 80 practice bays, two chipping greens, a practice bunker and a large practice green.

The resort also has a 18-hole Par 47 course adjacent to Los Olivos complete with bunkers and water hazards.

Golf Courses

NORTH COURSE

Designed by Robert Putman. A Par 71 layout where precision rather than length is needed. Ravines around the course, hillier than the South course. Wide fairways with small greens well-protected by deep bunkers.

WEST COURSE

Designed by Dave Thomas. Breathtaking tree-lined course set in the rolling hillside. The undulating fairways and fast greens make this course the hardest of the three to master. The holes are long and narrow with interesting water hazards. Accuracy and good course management are essential.

SOUTH COURSE

Remodelled by Arnold Palmer. The Championship course at La Manga, difficult due to the long holes. Front nine is tough with two Par 3s over 200 metres and some daunting Par 4’s, which require accurate driving between bunkers and splendid water hazards. The back-nine is shorter and features tight, dog-leg holes. The greens in general are big and require very long putts.

PAR 47 (pitch-and-putt)

Stunning 18-hole short course ideal for beginners and intermediates. Par 47 is adjacent to Los Olivos so is convenient for that early-morning practice!

Tennis Academy

The tennis academy is directly opposite the street from Los Olivos. It boasts 20 championship clay courts, 4 hard courts and 4 artificial grass courts, of which 18 are floodlit. The academy has hosted Davis and Federation Cup matches and has a world-class training facility using the latest video technology.

Both the luxury Clubhouse (The Tie Break) and the Oasis bar offer snacks, drinks and shade from the heat of the day. A children’s club is situated on-site to entertain your family while you play tennis or relax, where qualified staff will look after your children (enquire at Oasis bar for rates).

The luxurious Oasis outdoor swimming pool is available for users of the tennis centre but also by any residents of La Manga for a small charge. Since Los Olivos is across the road from the tennis centre, this is a convenient place for children to swim and play in the children’s club while you relax and enjoy the outdoors!
